NDEP - "Diabetes at Work Program"

The National Diabetes Education Program, in collaboration with AAHP and Washington Business Group on Health has recently announced a new on- line resource for employers entitled Diabetes at Work. This virtual tool helps employers assess the impact of diabetes at their workplace and provides them with resources on developing education programs. Further, the web site provides tools and information for employees and their families or friends for effective management of diabetes. In addition, lesson Plans and fact sheets on the following topics can be downloaded free of charge:

  • Supervisor’s guide to managing employees with diabetes
  • Reducing risks for diabetes and its complications
  • Managing diabetes and business travel
  • Taking an occupational health medical history for an employee with diabetes
