Employer Relations Diabetes and the Workplace: How Employers Can Implement Change The Directory is a project of the Taking on Diabetes Initiative, a joint initiative of the American Association of Health Plans (AAHP) and the American Diabetes Association. To produce this new product, the Taking on Diabetes Initiative has teamed up with the Employers’ Managed Health Care Association (MHCA), creating an invaluable resource that describes employer-based diabetes management programs. For the first time, essential information about these programs is listed online for your immediate access and use.
Using the Directory For employers, the Directory is a place to start if you are thinking about starting a diabetes management program but are still debating the costs and benefits. By perusing the Directory, you can see at a glance which companies have such programs, why they started their programs, and their success to date. Then, when considering your own next steps, you can compare your companies’ needs to those of the companies listed in the Directory. The information in the Directory is based on the needs assessment MHCA conducted last year to determine which members currently have diabetes management programs in place.
