Best Practices:

To promote information sharing and the rapid adaptation of effective innovations, Taking on Diabetes disseminates best practices in health care service delivery as one of its key strategic areas of focus. One of the most successful strategies health plans use to promote high-quality health care is the identification and dissemination of best practices. Organizations devote tremendous resources to developing and evaluating their care delivery programs. When programs are successful, that information should be shared with other organizations to raise the overall standard of quality care. By bringing experts and health care leaders together to discuss strategies that have been demonstrably successful, it is possible to spread innovation rapidly across a large number of organizations, driving quality of care improvements. The key to this type of dissemination is to identify programs that are not only successful, but also replicable, while recognizing and acknowledging the diversity of health care delivery systems.
